Long before Out-N-About was established, Darren’s father and grandfather built their careers selling and installing floor coverings, passing down a strong work ethic, craftsmanship, and commitment to customer service that continues to guide us today.

In the late 1990s, Darren founded Out-N-About in Springville, Utah. Starting as both a salesperson and installer, he built the company around a simple idea: the person helping you select your flooring should also have the expertise to install it. That’s where the name Out-N-About was born—your knowledgeable salesperson was also your professional installer, spending time both in the showroom and out in the field serving customers.

In the early years, the showroom was open only a few hours each day while the majority of the workday was spent installing flooring and building relationships with customers throughout the community.

In 2005, Darren brought Out-N-About back home to Meridian, Idaho. Since then, we have proudly served homeowners, builders, and businesses throughout the Treasure Valley. While our company has grown over the years, our commitment remains the same: providing quality products, expert installation, and the personalized service that only a family-owned business can offer.

Today, we continue to build on generations of flooring knowledge, helping our customers create beautiful spaces they can enjoy for years to come.
